cultural association for the promotion of contemporary performing arts
the itàca cultural association was born from the collaboration of its founding members working on the project “john cage in turin and ivrea” in 1984.
the founding members are luciano martinengo, roberto masotti, gigliola nocera, roberto pellerey, guido rollandin and alfredo tradardi.
has organised in 1985 the project “music # music” for the region of piedmont.
organised on behalf of the region of piedmont a research study on the “convention for a new theatre” held in june of 1967 in ivrea.
twenty years later, still in ivrea with the province of turin as its patron organised the convention on “memories and utopias”.
in 1991 with a mandate from the municipal council of ivrea organised “among a new theatre”, a project on the management of the civic theatre giuseppe giacosa which the council believed imminent its reopening.
iIn November 1992 organised in ivrea a multidisciplinary festival “fragments of memories of utopies of futures”, over a period of three days.
organised 8 editions of the festival musicarte in bajo dora from 1988 to 1995.
organised the convention “the castles of the doira” in december 1993.
organised the convention “the thousand rivulets of a castel in april 1994.
organised conferences, conventions and round-tables on the issues of a politics of culture and in particular regarding the theatre.
organised theatrical shows.
collaborated in the organisation, in january 2003, of the pippo delbano company with the show “war” in palestine and israel.
organised in the month of october 2003 the tour of the bajolese choir in Palestine and Israel.
organised in the month of october 2003 the tour of pulcinella (aka brunello leone from the theatres of naples) in palestine and israel.
in october 2004 collaborated in organising the italian tour of the dance group from the cultural association IBDAA from the dheisheh refugee camp.
in december 2004 organised a series of meetings in italy (parma, schio, venezia, torino, milano and varese) with tanya reinhart and aharon shabtai.
organised at the castle of mercenasco in the months of june and july 2005 the theatre festival “on the road…”
organised in the month of october 2005 a tour in piedmont of rem and cap with the shows “ME & ME” and “other happy days”.
organised the seminar “the dimension of the shared word –what future for palestine and israel?” in biella, may 2006.
